How the Tint Restrictiveness Index Works

The Tint Restrictiveness Index is a single score (0-100) that represents how restrictive tint laws are in a region. The score is calculated from three factors:

  • Windshield allowance (30% weight) - Restrictions on windshield tinting
  • Front side windows (40% weight) - Restrictions on front side window tinting
  • Back windows (30% weight) - Restrictions on rear window tinting

Lower scores (0-20) indicate very permissive laws, while higher scores (80-100) indicate extremely restrictive laws.
